HostGator claim a 99.9% uptime guarantee, so naturally, we put this to the test. First, we checked out the websites response time, resulting in a maximum response time of 1.5 seconds which we were very happy with. We had a look at the uptime results across the space of 30 days, 7 days, and 24 hours which all came back with a 99.9% response time or higher. HostGator take their guarantees very seriously, and rightly so, which they can be proud of.
Similarly, at $209.99 to $349.99 per month costs, the Ultimate plan could support a huge amount of user traffic if running 24/7 at max specifications and fully utilized user traffic. However, such usage rates are not possible, as there are obvious peak hours for websites and less traffic depending on the time zone at night. Site owners that consistently run against the full specifications of a server like the Ultimate configuration have no ability to manage over-capacity without an installed cloud option for instance multiplication and clustering. Consequently, consider this server for applications with a maximum of around 2,000 simultaneous users per minute at peak traffic under Apache. The fstab steps are not mandatory, the router can be done without it. Also I do not know ZFS enough so I cannot answer that point. The router on the article is done without jails, but should be jail compatible. For instance it may be possible to install OpenVPN and DNSCrypt on one or two jails, although I never tried it yet. DHCP server could be a candidate too.
I am not sure why you cannot search products via the search widget. After a little research, I came across a product from Visser Labs which enables advanced search capabilities – Simple Unified Search for WP e-Commerce. I have never used it so I cannot recommend it but it may be worth your while to investigate it a bit more. Hope this helps!
